There have been a lot of great electric cars coming out of China this year, one of the most amazing being BYD's Rangoon U8, which was recently endorsed by California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Newson is reportedly on a week-long trip to China, focusing on ways to mitigate climate change and signing important climate target agreements with Chinese provincial leaders. During a visit to a station operated by the Shenzhen Bus Group, he was able to test drive the Rangoon U8 and experience its turn-around-in-place technology.
While driving the U8, Newson said, "It's another leap forward in technology, a leap forward in next-generation technology, which is unexpected and I appreciate the technology. It's very good and it's a beautiful car with great design, features, weight and weight distribution." When asked if he wanted to bring the SUV back to Sacramento, he said, "I'd like two."
